TOPPING VS PRUNING
TREE TOPPING VS PRUNING
When trees are topped, they develop very weak"water sprouts." To the
untrained eye, this looks as though the tree is rejuvenating, but suckers don't
develop into adult limbs or even produce enough leaves. They remain weak and
snap off easily in storms.
